Tractor Compatibility & Requirements

What size of tractor is required to run this hay equipment package?

You can run this hay package even if you have a subcompact tractor! You only need 20 engine horsepower and a minimum of 2,000 lbs of weight in the tractor. Some subcompacts are a bit lighter than this or have limited 3 point hitch capacity, but you can always add weight to the tractor and our drawbar kit add-on allows you to pull the baler instead of lifting it.

Bale & Production Questions

What size of round bales does the TX31 mini round baler produce?

The TX31 mini round baler produces a 20” x 28” bale that can be as light as 30lbs and as heavy as 50lbs. You can select four density settings to fine tune the bale weight, but the bale size is the same regardless of density. It's about the same amount of hay as in a square bale. The bales stack neatly in a honeycomb pattern.
