Tractor Compatibility

Probably the question we are asked most often here at Tractor Tools Direct is, “Will this implement work with my tractor?”. So, in this blog we are going to give a basic overview of the implement and tractor specifications which help in making this determination. We will also show the places on our website where you can find the information needed to ensure that your tractor and a piece of our equipment are a perfect match.

When matching an implement to a tractor there are several factors to consider. These include:

• Horsepower--for both the tractor’s engine and at the PTO.
• Weight--for both the tractor and the implement
• Hydraulics--are they required and compatible?
• Connection/hitch--what type is required?
• Tractor width--both the maximum and the minimum.

Several locations on the Tractor Tools Direct website can help you to determine if a piece of equipment will be compatible with your tractor. First is the “ Easy Size Chart” under the “Information” tab on the homepage. Here, the prefixing system of all of our implements (TX, TS, TM, TL) is explained. Just find the tractor on the chart that is comparable to yours to determine the prefix for the equipment that will best match.

Another location is the individual product page. When you click on a product that interests you, simply scroll down to the “Product Overview” section. Here you will find an accordion-style menu. Clicking on the “Specifications” tab will give you all kinds of information from tractor horsepower and weight requirements to implement width and hitch styles. 

Scrolling a bit further down this menu you will find a “Tractor Compatibility” tab. Clicking on this will give you an explanation of the type of tractor as well as examples of tractor models with which the implement matches best.
